She's also an award winning author, a passionate cook, experienced cellar door manager, wine producer, small business owner and most importantly - an enthusiastic wine tourist.

She has spent over six years in cellar door - as both a manager and a staff member. She's spent three years teaching Melbourne's wine loving public about wine, and most recently published a book dedicated to drinking well -  titled Tipsy.  She helps make the wine at her family's vineyard Eminence, writes wine lists, hosts private events & wine tours, conducts cellar evaluations, and even writes the occasional wine review.

A chance conversation with a tourism executive in one of Victorias famed wine regions created the foundation that Vintuition was built on. As both a consumer of wine tourism, a small business owner and an industry participant, she has used insight from multiple vantage points to create a innovative training program to benefit all cellar door staff.

Clare understands the opportunities and challenges of cellar door business. Above all, the workshop content is practical, free from jargon, interactive & mindful to the day-to-day parameters of wine tourism businesses.

THE PILOT

The Vintuition pilot was conducted over three days in Rutherglen, with a total of 62 participants from 19 different wineries. It was as much about the participants learning from Clare, as Clare learning about the needs of the participants. Vintuition surveyed the participants in the interests of improving future workshops and found that:

90% of Attendees said they need more training

91% said the workshop was 'very' useful in their role

94% said they'd 'definitely' recommend it to colleagues

A few things were edited after the pilot - with the revised workshop consisting of much smaller wine tasting masterclasses leaving more time to focus on the delivery of memorable tastings, the use & management of social media and how to increase wine club sales. Using this and future feedback Vintuition will continue to evolve alongside the wine tourism industry to always deliver an innovative & progressive program.

A huge thank you to Winemakers of Rutherglen & Tourism North East for their assistance in developing the wine tourism modules & promoting the event to the wineries. Thanks to Tuileries Conference Centre for hosting the group & Georgie James for taking these great photos.

We'll be in your region soon so keep an eye out for the release.
